Marriage and Family Therapist
Katherine has a client-focused approach to treatment and believes that therapy should be tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. In order to support clients in achieving their treatment goals, Katherine carefully integrates a diverse array of theories including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapies. Katherine is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is an empirically validated treatment for trauma and other disturbing life experiences.
Katherine's training in Family Based and Systemic modalities has given her the skills necessary to help those across the lifespan facing various life stressors including mood and behavioral disorders as well as family and relationship issues. Interactive or play-based interventions are often incorporated into session to engage children and adolescents in treatment. Katherine believes in creating an open therapeutic environment in which all clients feel comfortable, safe, and welcome, including those who are part of the LGBTQ+ population.
