Professional Counselor

I am a licensed professional counselor who also holds a substance abuse speciality authorization in the state of Wisconsin. I received my undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College in 1998. I worked in the field of education as a high school teacher before making a career change and completing my master’s degree in counseling from Lakeland College in 2008. I completed my graduate school internship and clinical training at Journey Mental Health Center in Madison, Wisconsin. There, I continued to ask as an outpatient psychotherapist and addictions specialist until 2012 when I began my work in private practice.

I work with both adults and teens with a broad range of needs and goals. Areas of specialty include, but are not limited to the following: depression, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, trauma/abuse, grief and loss, stress management, and substance use/addictions. I am also bilingual in English/Spanish and am able to work with individuals needing counseling in Spanish.

I like to think of counseling as a short-term process leading to long-term positive change and increased life satisfaction. I truly enjoy the counseling process and I feel blessed to take part in the journey as my clients work through their struggles to create meaning, establish a greater purpose, improve their relationships with themselves and others, heal from painful experiences, and continue down the path of personal growth.

In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, biking, music, exploring new places through travel, and spending time with family and friends. I live in Madison with my husband and our pug, Gracie.
