Professional Counselor

I am a state certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and have worked for the past twenty-five years to help others find their voice in becoming self-advocates. I received my master’s degree in counseling from UW-Madison. I began my career in inpatient mental health services, moved to outpatient services and eventually into the school setting. In addition to being a licensed professional counselor, I also possess several other educational licenses, which have helped me to see mental health services through the lens of parent, advocate, teacher, and therapist. It has also allowed me to see the impact of trauma, family dynamics and coping mechanisms on an individual’s ability to function at the highest possible level. I believe therapy is a process that can help each client to reach his/her highest level of functioning and contentment in life.

I serve a variety of client issues, including: depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment to stressful life situations, family communication and positive parenting, grief and bereavement, individual empowerment, and family of origin issues.

I believe we never stop reflecting, learning, and growing into our best selves. I am married and have two adult sons. I live in the country outside of Black Earth, surrounded by woods and nature. I love to travel, to go to concerts, and to spend time with my family and friends. I have a good sense of humor and like to be around people who make me laugh and help me to keep life in perspective.

I am excited to be a member of The Psychology Clinic team and look forward to serving individuals and families in the Sauk Prairie and surrounding communities.
