Psychotherapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis in mental health. In my 10 years in the field I have had the opportunity to work in outpatient community case management as well as traditional therapy settings. I have training in therapy and skill development with adults across the lifespan who are experiencing a variety of challenges and struggles. Specifically, I have extensive experience working with adults dealing with serious and persistent mental illness and crisis intervention.

My experiences in the field have given me the opportunity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and has helped me to appreciate the need to approach wellness through a holistic framework. I also understand the importance of meeting each person where they are at in their recovery and I see this work as an essential aspect of understanding each unique individual experience. This understanding is the foundation of building a trusting and collaborative relationship, the most important factor in therapy. I am truly honored each and every time someone is willing to share their triumphs and challenges with me, and allow me to walk alongside them as we explore the way they are thinking and how that impacts the way they feel, ultimately understanding better what recovery means to them.

I utilize a variety of approaches, skills, and techniques to formulate an approach best suited for each person. I feel that my experience makes me well suited to work with folks managing a variety of behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, issues regarding trauma, stress management, and other serious and persistent mental illness including psychotic illnesses. I also appreciate the unique experience faced in athletics and enjoy working with folks interested in exploring ways to improve their mental approach to the activities they love.

I have lived in Madison for the last 13 years and love so much of what this city has to offer. In my free time I remain active through basketball, golf, and soccer, lifelong passions of mine. I also enjoy reading, hiking with my dog, playing guitar, and spending time with family and friends.
