Physician Assistant

I have had the good fortune to work in the mental health field for over 20 years, first as a social worker and now as a physician assistant and psychiatric prescriber. During that time, I've worked in community case management, crisis intervention, program development and administration and as a therapist for individuals, couples, families and groups. Since becoming a PA, I've worked in outpatient mental health as well as family practice and urgent care. This gives me the unique perspective of understanding client's issues from both a psychological and a medical perspective.

I work with individuals aged 16 and up. One of my interests is working with people who have experienced trauma in their past. I have experience working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression and attention problems.

I'm a big believer in resilience and autonomy. In my work with clients, I like to think of myself as a resource and teammate. This means that I am here to help you find your strengths in addition to talking about problems, and to work together to come up with a solution. One part of that solution, for many people, is medication. But that's almost never the only answer -- therapy, self-care, and sometimes life changes are all important aspects as well. My goal is to work together with you to develop and implement a plan that helps you feel and function your best.

When I'm not at work, I have many interests: gardening, yoga, cooking, knitting and spending time with friends and family. I'm an avid traveler but the beauty of southern Wisconsin always brings me back home.
