As a health psychologist, I believe that our mind and body are interconnected. I enjoy working with clients to achieve their goals in the areas of mental and physical health. My approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal approaches while also addressing important cultural factors that impact my clients. I am particularly passionate about providing services to individuals with eating and body image difficulties, as well as older adults and caregivers who are adjusting to chronic illness and life transitions. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I worked for several years as a nursing assistant and, because of this experience, also have a particular interest in working with medical professionals in the areas of stress management and career development.

After completing my undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I went on to complete my master’s and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Lehigh University. Over the past 10 years, I have received clinical training in health psychology and geropsychology through the VA Health Care System, long-term care (nursing homes), community hospice/home health, academic medical centers, and college counseling centers. Recently, I completed specialized trainings and consultation in several evidence-based therapies including enhanced CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Resources for Enhancing Alzheimer's Caregivers Health (REACH), and Motivational Interviewing for health behavior change. While evidence-based therapy approaches provide useful techniques, I find the most fulfilling and important part of my work as a psychologist is to build supportive relationships with my clients.

I recently returned to Wisconsin after spending time living on the east coast and in the southwest. During my time away, I developed a great appreciation for the beautiful Wisconsin landscape and the warmth of Midwest culture. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, and spending time with my partner and our pets.
