Amy Schertz, MS, LMFT
Marriage & Family Therapist

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Wisconsin. I received my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin in 1995.

I have been working in the mental health field in Sauk County since February 1996. I have always felt the calling to help others. I possess a deep sense of respect, compassion and empathy for others who are struggling with any life issue. Through my education as a therapist and my ongoing training as a healer, I feel compelled to share my gifts with others to assist them on their own healing journeys. Although my title may suggest I work only with couples and families dealing with divorce and blended family issues, I am quite versed in working with individuals as well with a variety of behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, post-traumatic stress and stress management. I enjoy helping my clients set clear intentions, new agreements, healthy boundaries and a practice of excellent self-care all in the comfort and safety of a warm office setting.

As well as being a psychotherapist, I am also an artist, gardener, Reiki Practitioner, avid kayaker and yogi. I share a beautiful Arts & Crafts bungalow in Baraboo, Wisconsin with my husband Bill and our three wise cats, Matisse, Karma and Gracie. I am a former board member of the Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park and the Sauk County Art Association.
